When we built InitRepo, our goal was simple: turn your raw app ideas into structured, high-fidelity specifications that AI coding agents can execute flawlessly. Today, we're releasing a suite of Quality of Life (QoL) updates designed to make your planning-to-building workflow even faster and smoother.
Here's a breakdown of the new features now live on InitRepo:
1. Refine Spec (Clone & Edit)
Building software is an iterative process. Often, you generate a complete specification suite only to realize you want to tweak the feature scope, adjust a constraint, or swap out a part of your tech stack.
Previously, this meant clicking through the 4-step wizard and entering all your details again. Now, you can click "Refine Spec" directly from any project details page. This immediately clones your previous answers and loads them back into the wizard. Tweak a single detail, hit regenerate, and your new suite of documents will spin up in seconds.
2. One-Click App Presets
Staring at a blank form can be the hardest part of starting a new project. To help you jumpstart the wizard, we've introduced App Archetype Presets.
When starting a project in guided mode, you can select from standard presets like:
- SaaS Platform Boilerplate: Pre-configures standard accounts, subscription payments, file uploads, and dashboard layout.
- AI Assistant Chat: Pre-configures real-time streaming, chat inputs, search, and template capabilities.
- Real-time Mobile Tracker: Pre-configures native mobile stacks, live updates, and push notification templates.
Clicking a preset automatically populates the problem statement, target audience, recommended stack, and key capabilities. You can generate it as-is, or use it as a foundation to customize.
3. Agent Integration Command Clipboard
Once your spec suite is generated, you need to hand it off to your coding agent. To make this hand-off frictionless, we've added a Quick Integration Clipboard directly to the project dashboard.
You can now copy pre-formatted setup commands and instruction blocks tailored for:
- Terminal Agents (like Claude Code): Instantly copy the directory commands to seed the agent's local workspace.
- IDE Extensions (like Cursor or GitHub Copilot): Copy instructions to drop directly into your
.cursorrulesor system prompt, ensuring the model immediately recognizes the directory mapping and roadmap.
4. Live Generation Tab Progress
A full 8-document generation run takes about a minute as each stage cross-references the ones before it. Because you have better things to do than watch a progress bar fill up, we've updated the page header title to track progress dynamically in your browser tab (e.g., ⚙️ Generating (25%)).
You can safely switch to other tabs or start checking email; the tab title will update in real-time and alert you the second your specs are ready.
5. Responsive Mobile Nav
For makers browsing plans or reviewing examples on the go, we've added a clean mobile hamburger menu to the marketing navigation header, ensuring a seamless experience on any screen size.
